Ameren plans $5.3 billion in Missouri energy grid upgrades

Ameren Missouri has announced a plan to invest $5.3 billion to improve the state’s energy grid.

In a statement, Ameren said the plan includes more than 2,000 infrastructure projects across the state that will make the grid smarter, cleaner and more reliable. The projects will take place over the next five years and about $1 billion in electric investments are underway in 2019.

Despite the capital improvements, the utility said rates will remain stable due to legislation enacted last year.
