Bay Area businesses brace for unprecedented PG&E outages this week

PG&E warned Monday it may take the extreme and unprecedented measure of intentionally cutting off power to most of Northern and Central California, including much of the Bay Area, as fears ignite over forecasted high winds later this week that could potentially spark another round of wildfires.

While public officials are focusing much of their warnings on public safety, traffic and health, businesses also must prepare, as the outages could potentially grind most companies’ operations to a halt.…
