Duke Energy tower to be third-largest in Charlotte

Duke Energy Corp. will start construction next month on its proposed uptown tower, which the company now says will be 40 stories tall.

The extra floor – Duke had previously pegged the tower’s height at 39 stories – is likely to make it the third-largest building on Charlotte’s skyline.

The tallest building in Raleigh is the 33-story PNC Plaza.
