Hawaiian Electric Co. and the U.S. Army did a one-time resiliency test of the Schofield Generating Station power plant late last month, the utility and the military jointly announced this week.
The 50-megawatt Schofield Generating Station, or SGS, was tested to see if it could successfully power up a microgrid in an emergency power outage situation for Schofield Barracks, Wheeler Army Airfield and Field Station Kunia.
