Nearly 200 workers at Marathon Petroleum Corp.’s St. Paul Park oil refinery began a strike Thursday, after a contract dispute centering on the company’s plan to replace union workers with subcontractors.
The Pioneer Press has a report on the walkout by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 120. A spokesman for the company said that the action isn’t expected to create supply disruptions.
Reuters reported last month that a strike could be imminent after weeks of contract talks.
