North Carolina regulators to combine two big Duke Energy rate cases this summer

State regulators have agreed to combine the rate-hike hearings for Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress in addition to proposing a procedure for that hearing to be held starting in late July.

Both utilities have filed proposals to substantially raise rates. Recognizing that the Covid-19 pandemic has made ordinary schedules for proceedings impossible, the utilities agreed to delay the hearings.
