A new nuclear age has arrived and Atlanta-based Southern Co. will lead the charge.
On Thursday, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission voted 4-1 to allow Southern Co. to start building the nation’s first two new nuclear units in 30 years at subsidiary Georgia Power Co.’s Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, Ga.
