Ohio energy law bucks national trend, environmental group says

The Environmental Defense Fund sees Ohio as going in the opposite direction of most other states when it comes to supporting green energy, WVXU reports.

Ohio’s new law, created through HB6, bails out the state’s two nuclear power plants and ensures two coal plants will continue to run through hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies. The bill also rolled back renewable energy requirements for utilities and eliminated energy efficiency mandates.
