Report contends Duke Energy’s revised plant construction plan could hit $6B in stranded costs

Duke Energy’s revised plant construction plan submitted to South Carolina regulators could cost customers $1.2 billion more in stranded costs and leave the Charlotte company producing more carbon by 2050 than its initial proposal, a new report asserts.

Clean energy advocate Vote Solar issued the new report today as the S.C. Public Service Commission prepares to take comments on Oct. 26 on Duke’s revised proposal.
