Why Duke Energy Progress customers can expect a break on winter bills

Duke Energy Progress customers in North Carolina should see lower bills this winter, largely because of lower fuel costs, as state regulators approved new charges that took effect this week.

Residential customers should see a 3.2% break in rates. For a typical residential customer, the average monthly bill will be $116.63, down from the $120.44 before the N.C. Utilities Commission approved the reductions in fuel and other rider costs.
