Days before the power was scheduled to be disconnected from one of downtown Cincinnati’s most recognizable buildings, provider Duke Energy and the building’s owner averted lights out at Carew Tower.
A spokeswoman for Duke Energy confirmed Tuesday that a payment had been made Monday afternoon to avoid the shutoff of power at one of downtown’s tallest skyscrapers. Duke had hand-delivered letters to tenants in Carew Tower warning them that it planned to cut power to the building after noon Feb. 10.
